Paper inserts are ideal for rapidly changing deck tests, while custom printed proxies suit settled casual lists that benefit from clearer, more consistent presentation.

TLDR Using proxies to test a competitive Commander deck lets you evaluate expensive cards, new win conditions, and complete decklists before committing to the real cards. Start with the uncertain parts of the deck rather than immediately printing 100 cards. Test opening hands, mulligans, interaction, mana development, and performance against several archetypes. The real answer is social, not mathematical. Ask first, keep the cards readable, match the table’s power level, and do not be the person who says “casual deck” while revealing a proxy Mana Vault, Rhystic Study, and Demonic Tutor on turn three. Nobody likes that little theater production. The Actual Question: Can You Use MTG … Read more

TLDR My Little Pony MTG decks work best when you lean into the joke but still build a real Commander shell. Princess Twilight Sparkle wants five-color setup and protection. Rainbow Dash wants fast flyers and haste creatures. Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Nightmare Moon, and Discord are better when you treat them as engines, support … Read more

A lot of Universes Beyond proxy deck ideas sound amazing right up until you actually sleeve them. Then the problem shows up fast. Star Wars MTG proxy resources are a lot better now than they used to be. And some DIY options are great right up until you are hunting for fonts, Photoshop templates, and a missing … Read more

One commander gives you a main character. Two commanders give you a cast. And for custom proxy decks, that changes everything. A good single-commander deck can absolutely feel thematic. But a good two-commander deck has something extra: built-in relationships. Rivals. Best friends. Captain and first mate. Tiny gremlin and giant enabler. Hero and backstory. That … Read more

This PrintACube review starts with a simple question: if you want a cube on the table without turning the process into a side hobby, does PrintACube look like a smart place to order from? Based on the live site, product pages, policy pages, and public feedback footprint I could verify online, I think the answer … Read more

A lot of proxy decks are only “done” in the loosest possible sense. The main 100 cards are there. The mana base looks sharp. The commander gets the premium treatment. Maybe the whole thing even has a clean visual theme. But then the game starts and the deck immediately asks for a Treasure, a copy … Read more
